I’m a big eater. In the morning I usually have a full fried breakfast, which consists of a couple of fried eggs (sunny side up), a frankfurter and kidney beans in tomato sauce. I wash the food down with a cup of strong black coffee.
At work we have a break at about 11a.m. To have a glass of hot tea with a roll or a biscuit is a must. I prefer plain black tea. But my women-colleagues fancy flavoured green tea. They say it helps them to keep fit and feel active.
My lunch time is at 2 o’clock. I live far from my place, so I eat at a factory canteen or go to the nearby bar. As you probably guess, I order a hearty substantial meal. For a starter I take a meat salad with a mayonnaise dressing. You know, I hate soups since my childhood. My main dish consists of some fried (roasted) meat with mashed potato and pickled vegetables at the side. Orange juice is my favourite, so I finish the meal with a glass or two.
The waiters in the bar and canteen know my tastes by now and I nearly don’t need to tell them what my choice will be.
Coming home I demand a rich meal to refill my energy for the rest of the day. It can be pilaff with lamb, or chicken casserole, or pork stew. Dinner is also a dessert time, as I don’t have enough time for it during my lunch. My wife is a wonderful cook, so in the evening she usually treats the family to some sweet things: different kinds of biscuits, cakes and pies. Or we can make ice-cream with berries, nuts and chocolate chips.
So you see, I am in love with delicious and hearty meals. The only problem is that I am getting fat. I have difficulty in physical activity. Probably my wife is right: I have to cut down on fattening food. Who knows, may be in the nearest future I will have to reconsider my daily menu. What a pity!
